History
The mansion’s most famous owner was Prince
and Senator I. A. Gagarin. According to the established view in literary studies, his wife, Ekaterina Semyonovna Semyonova, a renowned Russian actress celebrated
by Alexander Pushkin in his works, including Eugene Onegin, lived here in the 1820s–1830s.
The original Empire-style interiors have not survived.
Only two staircases and several fragments of the stucco cornice have survived intact to the present day.

Concept
The bureau’s architects and designers recreated
the interior solutions of a 19th-century Empire-style estate, drawing on their knowledge of history, culture,
and art. Through the team’s detailed work, the atmosphere of a luxurious mansion in the center of Moscow was restored and reflected in unique interior solutions.

An important stage of the project was the integration
of a contemporary banking function into the historic structure of the 19th-century mansion. The bureau developed interior solutions for the VTB’s client service office and the VTB Private area, combining
the requirements of a representative office
with the character of an Empire-style estate.
